Jake Foster (b. 1993) is an MFA candidate at the University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign. He earned a BA in Art from Rutgers University-Camden in 2017, where he was awarded two undergraduate research grants, the Stedman Gallery Purchase Award, and the John J Gianotti Fine Arts award. His current body of work reinterprets his family’s photographs into contemporary paintings that analyze the American condition and question our ability to remember.
His work has been curated by the Head of Contemporary Art at the National Gallery of Art and by the Director of Exhibitions at Tyler School of Art.
